One of the best days of my life

Today was, I think, one of the best days of my life. Hiking through the Maasai plains was such a great experience! I really enjoyed the walk! At the beginning I had a lot of energy, so I was going at quite a fast pace. After lunch I knew I needed to conserve my energy, so slowed my pace down completely. I really loved that I was able to see this side of Kenya, as usually I had only experienced it by road or plane – you don’t get to see so much.

The vegetation of areas we walked through fascinated me. There were some areas that were lush and green and the other side of the path was dry and arid. My favourite moment was when we arrived at camp and you could see Mt Kilimanjaro as clear as day. The sun was setting and the dust from a nearby road had come up from a passing car or boda. Probably one of the most beautiful sunsets I have ever seen! What excited me the most was the fact that I was looking up at the mountain that I would soon be looking down from!
