Seeds for the future

Today was a beautiful day! We went to Olkeria primary school and planted trees with the students. It was such a wonderful experience to speak with the students about their lives and their culture. It really makes me want to come back and work with them more. I hope that I get a chance to come back in the future and see the trees we planted. I think the next thing that should be developed at the school is a kitchen garden so the school can become self-sufficient.

In the evening we came together as a group and reflected on the activity. Then we had a “getting to know you” session. It was a really important moment for us as a group to share our personal life experiences and our future goals. I think this has helped us understand each other more, and I think it has brought us closer together. I hope that throughout the rest of the camp we have more sessions like today. It really showed us that we all go through obstacles, but we can overcome. It also taught us that even though we come from different places and backgrounds we all face problems, and everyone’s problem is valid no matter how big or small!
